We believe every child is special

This morning we took part in the famous "Burwell Fox" game,  we had to hide from the farmers (our teachers) and find the hidden clues. Then had our final meal.

Mr Turner was a fantastic farmer

Brook made sure she ate lots of Toast and jam so that she had the energy to do the monkey bars in one go.

This morning the foxes and robins have been taking part in some team building activities, then off to trust our skills being blindfolded whilst our partners led us through a challenging obstacle course.

Squirrels and Deers have had a super time creating their very own news report and cameras using a green screen, the other groups will be doing this later.

Last night, we completed a word search competition

We have arrived safely

and have been very busy!!!

We visited the pond in our wellies and got very muddy!! we then went on a snail trail to find fun facts about Burwell before our lunch of sausage and mash and a chocolate brownie! During our free time after lunch we had time in the Scrapstore Play Pod and used lots of materials to create and build our own inventions. The Burwell staff then took us on an exciting walk through Burwell village and we were told lots of mysterious tales, then off to the Lock up which was used as a prison.

As part of our Art curriculum this term, the children took part in a metal sculpture workshop on  with artist, Darcy Turner. The children were involved in making metal sculptures of different animals and worked as a team to produce them. We hope to hold an exhibition of the sculptures produced after half term and will be in touch with more details about this nearer the time.

On Friday 2nd November 24 Key Stage 2 children attended the annual Fenland Cross Country event at Alderman Jacobs School in Whittlesey.   The children were very excited about representing the school and were filled with excitement, nerves and huge enthusiasm on the morning of the event!  Every child made it round the courses, there were some brilliant examples of determination and self-belief.  It was wonderful to see the children support and work as a team cheering on each other and as the children ran past us all cheering them on their faces lit up and this appeared to spur them on and give them a final boost to finish the race.   Everyone pushed themselves to achieve their best and they should all be extremely proud of their performances on the day.

A very special congratulations  goes out to some medal winners; Archie  for an absolutely outstanding performance and coming in 1st in the Year  5 boys race,   Kai  who fought extremely hard to come in 3rd in the year 4 boys race and the year 4 girls and boys who came 3rd overall in the competition.

We can't wait for the event again next year!
